Ice Cream Dreams and Minnesota Hurricanes
Thursday evening Evan, Keith, and my parents stopped by to drop off the Wigers for a quick evening prior to their travel back to Alaska. They showed up with enough ice cream to feed a village. Luckily, there was enough room amongst the bellies of the group to totally consume a cow's lifetime production of ice cream in one sitting(sin lactade). Keith, Evan and I woke early (5:20 am) to a slow rain and some thunder. Within the next 10 minutes a massive storm broke through the clouds. Just in time to soak us all on the way to the truck(I think we spent a total of approx. 39 seconds outside during the downpour). I've posted the the radar for a comparison with the rain in Minneapolis with the storms sweeping across the Florida pan handle. Looking at the radar, I would say Minnesota had a catagory II something or other type of storm. Suffice to say the rain n
ailed us pretty good. With Keith and Evan's help I was able to stay on the road on the way to the light rail station. My windshield was like looking through wax paper and some of the puddles were deep enough to completely submerge the tires on the "mighty nissan". I've posted a picture we took of a few of the more rare palm trees known to grow in Minneapolis. Its obvious that Floridian storms have nothing on a good ol' Minnesota blow!Regardless, I would bet even a storm like this wouldn't have kept a one of you away from the state fair implement show!

Have a wonderful weekend and get out to the state fair to enjoy all your favorites on a stick. Personally, a scotch egg, turkey leg and foot long pronto pup would be just fine, if you ask me....
